PCP III has provided a 5-year senior secured facility to the Irish-based telecommunications company Viatel. The facility will be used to refinance existing debt and to fund further growth through investments and potential acquisitions.
Viatel was founded in 1997 and provides connectivity and ICT solutions tailored for large enterprises, the public sector as well as wholesale and carrier customers throughout Europe. With metro fibre and data centres in Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris and other European cities, Viatel owns over 8,500 km of duct and fibre optic network infrastructure, connecting eight countries, 35 main cities, 200 European data centres and thousands of mid and large sized enterprises.
P Capital Partners believes that Viatel is well positioned to benefit from the strong fundamental underlying growth in data traffic. We also value Viatel’s integrated business model for wholesale, enterprise and data centres, which generates a high degree of recurring revenues, as well as its experienced management team.
