In July 2018, PCP provided expansion capital to the UK and Irish pub and restaurant operator East London Pub Co., ultimately owned and managed by seasoned hospitality entrepreneur Patrick Fawley.
The East London Pub Co. was founded by Frawley, who also leads The Cornstore group and Coqbull in Ireland. Established in 2014 with a vision of creating a boutique portfolio of top-quality pubs, the group’s first venue was the famous Ten Bells in Spitalfields. Frawley and Bradley Lomas, both of whom possess a great passion for shaping the best wet-led pubs in London, plan to open further locations across the city toward the end of this year and early next year, including two new pub developments in Clapham and Spitalfields Market.
With the support of PCP, East London Pub Co. most recently acquired The Lock Tavern, Camden, and is investing upwards of half a million GBP into restoring the venue. Preserving the original atmosphere, much-loved aesthetics, and traditional interiors, the phased restoration will take place over six months. The bar offering will broaden with a wider range of craft beers, including local and independent breweries, and the addition of a dedicated gin menu and extensive wine list.
PCP´s financing will primarily be used to continue growing the group, with a focus on establishing well-managed wet-led pubs in prime London locations.
